With many different leadership styles out there, such as dependent, which tends to focus on centralized authority, independent, which tends to focus on self-reliance, and interdependent, which tends to focus on collaboration and teamwork, it can raise some questions about leadership styles in your own teams and organizations.

The Leadership Metaphor Explorer is a dynamic training tool designed to stimulate wisdom and understanding about how leadership plays out in organizations. Created by the Center for Creative Leadership, this hands-on game uses metaphorical images and captions to open a dialogue about dependent, independent, and interdependent leadership cultures to help you evaluate what changes need to be made in your leadership approach.

The Leadership Metaphor Explorer is an interactive training tool designed to stimulate creative, insightful conversations about leadership in and among groups. Individuals choose the option that resonates with them the most from a deck of 83 image and caption cards, then participate in a group discussion about leadership in organizations.

The comprehensive Facilitator’s Guide is designed to help instructors and participants understand how leadership plays out in their organizations, communities, and across boundaries.
