Conflict Strategies Inventory successfully improves an individual's ability to handle conflict in the workplace. Based on more than 35 years of research, this training tool explores five different conflict strategies: integrating, compromising, competing, smoothing, and avoiding. Most importantly, the Conflict Strategies Inventory accurately identifies one's typical reaction to conflict, examines the potential outcomes associated with each strategy, encourages the use of more effective tactics, and provides skill practice in resolving day-to-day issues. These workplace scenarios for managers offer helpful tips and tricks for dealing with conflict and are especially useful for training the millennial generation. Discover the most effective way to handle workplace conflict with Conflict Strategies Inventory.

How it works

Conflict Strategies Inventory helps individuals discover their preferred conflict strategies and learn how to deal effectively with conflict. These five strategies include:

  1. Integrating
  2. Compromising
  3. Competing
  4. Smoothing
  5. Avoiding

The Conflict Strategies Inventory is based upon the well-known Blake and Mouton Styles Grid as well as the works of many other respected researchers in the field of conflict management. Presented with ten common workplace situations, individuals identify a preference for one of the five basic conflict strategies listed above. The self-assessment takes approximately 25 minutes to complete, and we recommend you allow up to one hour for the interpretation of results, debriefing, and action planning.
