Description

In today's empowered organizations, the responsibility of championing change cascades throughout the organization, regardless of authority or position. Leading Change at Every Level is a comprehensive online self-assessment that measures skill level and an optional classroom workshop that develops five behaviors of effective change leaders.


Throughout the course, participants will become aware of behaviors that contribute to leading change, assess current and past behaviors related to leading change, identify gaps in personal performance, and commit to an action plan to develop the necessary skills to become a leader of change.

How it works

The purpose of Leading Change at Every Level is to help individuals identify and develop the skills that will make them more effective at leading change, whether the change is one they have chosen to initiate or one they have been asked to implement.


Leading Change at Every Level is a combination self-assessment and training workshop that measures skill level and develops the five behaviors of effective change leaders:

  1. Modeling the change
  2. Communicating about the change
  3. Involving others in the change
  4. Helping others break from the past
  5. Creating a supportive environment for change

Leading Change at Every Level helps individuals examine how their behavior contributes to leading change. It also encourages participants to improve their ability to lead change and shows them a comprehensive action planning section that provides specific recommendations for bridging the gaps in one’s behavior portfolio.

Learning outcomes

This tool allows participants to become aware of and improve their change-related behaviors, ultimately empowering them to become leaders of change. By the end of this workshop, participants will:

  • Measure current change leadership abilities.
  • Understand effective change leadership behaviors.

It includes pressure-sensitive forms for scoring to aid manual tabulation.

The foundation for the workshop, the online assessment is administered to participants through the HRDQ Assessment Center. A full-color, detailed report is delivered electronically to the facilitator/administrator when complete.


QuickStart Train-the-Trainer: 1-Hour Virtual Coaching Session for This Product

QST is a convenient, one-hour virtual coaching session for first-time facilitators of this product. You'll receive personalized, one-on-one coaching with a subject matter expert who will get you up to speed quickly and accurately so you can step into the onsite with confidence. We'll answer all your questions about the facilitation of the product. And you can add additional coaching hours as needed. Your coaching session can be provided by telephone or video call and at a time of your choosing.


Facilitators will also receive an HRDQ Certificate of Completion for completing the QuickStart session.

About the authors

Laurie Ribble Libove, MS, is a specialist in strategic human resource management and organizational development. She earned an MS from the School of Management and Labor Relations at Rutgers University and a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Ms. Ribble Libove served as a lecturer at the Haas School of Business at the University of California - Berkeley and an instructor in the MBA program at the Dominican University of California. She is the author and co-author of several HRDQ training tools, including Learning to Listen, Trust: The Ultimate Test, and the Comprehensive Leader.
