Neurolinguistic Communication Profile
The Neurolinguistic Communication Profile (NCP) assessment is based on the Neurolinguistic Programming model. This innovative and useful model emphasizes the relationship between an individual's thinking and communication preference and the ability to establish rapport with another person.
The NCP focuses on assessing visual, auditory, and kinesthetic preferences to discover how participants take in information, organize it, and communicate it to others. A technique teaching participants insights and practical tools for communicating more flexibly and effectively with others, regardless of their preferences.
Available in online and print format
- Online version available through the HRDQ Assessment Center.
- Students may self-enroll in the online version.
- Self-enrollment is also a good option for trainers and consultants who wish to evaluate content for their organization or client.
How It Works
The Neurolinguistic Communication Profile starts with a self-assessment that takes individuals approximately 20 minutes to complete. Individuals respond to 65 items relating to communication. The result is a set of scores in each of the three dimensions: sensory modality, thinking style, and preferred mode of expression. Combining these results produces an overall communication profile. The NCP also includes a quick assessment of rapport, allowing individuals to look at communication strengths and weaknesses with another individual.
If you intend to use this communication assessment profile in a classroom training session, then we recommend you allow approximately 90 minutes for interpretation of scores, topic discussion, debrief, and action planning. The Facilitator Guide also offers an easy-to-follow workshop outline that expands the profile into a half-day program.
